Matthias Dammann 2015

(ex. Manuel Barrueco)

A Rare Dammann guitar with Extraordinary Provenance

Among modern classical guitars, few names command the respect and admiration of Matthias Dammann. Revered for his revolutionary double-top design and unmatched concert projection, Dammann guitars are considered among the finest instruments ever built for the classical stage. A Matthias Dammann guitar is now extraordinarily difficult to obtain. Yet even within this elite world, the 2015 Matthias Dammann ex-Manuel Barrueco stands apart as an exceptionally rare and historically important example.

This guitar was personally used by legendary virtuoso Manuel Barrueco giving the instrument a unique artistic legacy far beyond its remarkable craftsmanship alone. Barrueco, celebrated worldwide for his refined tone and uncompromising musical standards, selected only instruments capable of meeting the highest professional demands. A Dammann chosen and performed extensively by Barrueco represents the very highest tier of modern concert guitars. Barrueco owns totaly four Dammann guitars, this one is the only Spruce top one among them which makes it even more unique.

Built during Dammann’s mature period, the 2015 model combines immense projection with remarkable tonal beauty, clarity, and responsiveness. The signature double-top construction delivers effortless power and sustain, while retaining the warmth and color complexity demanded by top-level performers. Every note speaks with immediacy, balance, and extraordinary dynamic range.

What makes this guitar truly special is not only its sound, but its provenance. Among the already limited number of Dammann guitars worldwide, instruments directly associated with Manuel Barrueco are exceptionally scarce and highly coveted by collectors and concert artists alike. It is not simply another fine Dammann, also a concert-used instrument connected to one of the most important classical guitarists of our time.
