Hermann Hauser II was born in 1927 in Germany, into a family with a long tradition of making exceptional classical guitars. His father, Hermann Hauser I, was an influential guitar maker, and Hermann Hauser II continued his father’s legacy, further establishing the Hauser name in the world of classical guitar making. Hauser II's instruments became renowned for their exquisite craftsmanship and beautiful, rich sound, and they were highly sought after by top classical guitarists.

One of the most notable relationships Hauser II had was with the legendary guitarist Julian Bream, who became one of the most prominent proponents of Hauser II guitars. Bream played a Hauser II guitar during much of his career, and the guitar was often associated with the purity and depth of his tone. Hauser II’s instruments were also played by other world-renowned guitarists, including Andrés Segovia, who was instrumental in popularizing classical guitar as a concert instrument in the 20th century. Segovia himself played a Hauser I guitar earlier in his career, cementing the Hauser family’s influence on the classical guitar world.
