Specifications:
Robert Bouchet 1958 No. 62
“A Museum-Level Masterpiece”
Fonzo Selection is proud to present one of the rarest and most historically significant classical guitars ever offered: Robert Bouchet’s 1958 No. 62, expertly crafted with a European spruce top and Brazilian rosewood back and sides.
Robert Bouchet handcrafted only approximately 154 guitars in his lifetime, making each instrument exceptionally rare and highly prized by performers, collectors, and museums alike.
No. 62 was constructed during Bouchet’s mature period, immediately preceding some of his most celebrated instruments. It sits alongside masterpieces such as Ida Presti’s 1958 Bouchet (No. 63) and Alexandre Lagoya’s 1959 Bouchet, both of which remain preserved in the Musée de la Musique, Paris.
Because of its proximity in date and style to these landmark instruments, No. 62 is widely regarded as the “sister guitar” to Presti’s own instrument, with credible historical possibility that she played it prior to receiving her dedicated guitar.
This guitar remains in remarkable original condition:
No cracks
No repairs
Original French-polished finish
Original tuning machines
Includes original Bouchet case
This guitar is also documented in the authoritative new Bouchet monograph by Alberto Martinez further enhancing its provenance and rarity.
No. 62 represents an extraordinary convergence of craftsmanship, performance history, and museum-quality preservation a once-in-a-generation instrument for the discerning collector or artist.
